Unusual item, unusual item description
This auction is for a book of information on the Texas Instruments TI 99/4A Home Computer console and peripherals. This was very hush-hush at TI back in the 70's and 80's.
These books were distributed to a few that worked on the home computer project and even at that, they are copies of the original data drawings and specs, even hand-written notes in some cases.
Included are :
The 99/4A Console and Peripheral Expansion System Technical Data folder (1983)
File Management Specification for the TI 99/4 (1979)
Device Service Routine Specification for the TI 99/4x Personal Computer (1982)
Disk Peripheral Software Specification (1980)
Functional Specification for the 99/4 Disk Peripheral (79-80)
EIA RS232 Peripheral Software interface and Operational Spec (1982).
All documents are in a TI RTC binder. I also have an empty 2 1/2 inch 99/4A binder and a copy of the instructions for Personal Record Keeping Module (doc's only - NO Module) that I am throwing in. Information also includes technical notes on the TI 59 Calculator, memory upgrade how-to for the TI CC-40 computer, and an original vinyl 'TI 99/4A Booster' bumper sticker.
We kept these copies safe from prying eyes, and as such I found two sets hidden in a box that I brought from the Abliene plant in 1982 after the 99/4A line was shut down.
These are 'ORIGINAL COPIES.' By that, I mean that these are photocopies - in some cases many 'generations' old. They are the original docs we used on the Home Computer line in the 80's. Some of these are stuck together where the original pages fused to the one in front, since the old Xerox machines were not as good as today's - but they are readable. This is the way we used them - 'you get what I got.' Some may have my original notes on the machines written on a few sheets.
What is in the doc's ?
Complete 99/4A block diagrams and schematics. Schematics for most of the peripherals, GPL information, I/O pinouts, memory allocation, CRU Allocation, Interrupt handling, I/O read / Write timing, instruction validity, system bus info, and much more. This is a great collection for any user group or vintage TI enthusiast.
Again, these are original working copies of restricted circulation documents, the paper is a little yellowed and looks a little 'dirty' due to the original Xerox copy process 25-28 years ago. The Personal Record Keeping book is an original that came with a module at one time. The binders are what we could get a hold of at the time. The bumper sticker was a comercial item I bought as a member of one of the internal TI users groups, FLUG.
Shipping will be USPS Media mail or if you prefer another way, email me and we will arrange it. This is an AS-IS auction, but if you are a TI enthusiast, you WILL NOT BE DISAPOINTED in the information in these pages.
