bcmEW Hard Drives
You are bidding on one lot of one used Western Digital WD800BB 80GB IDE hard drives at auction from bcmEW, a family owned and operated business. All drives are guaranteed to be in working order. These drives are recycled from various places and put through a D.o.D. standard erasing program prior to shipment. Drives come bare, that means no cables, no software, no box (packed in bubble wrap). Compatibility is the purchasers responsibility. Drive pictured may not be exact model at auction, please check listed model number at Western Digital for specifics.
We have sold hundreds of recycled hard drives and have only satisfied customers, although we have made a couple mistakes in delivery. If for some reason you are not happy with your order, we will try to work something out with you, but please understand that it is the purchasers responsibility to fully understand what they are bidding on. If you don't like that, please don't bid. If we do something wrong, we'll make it right one way or another.
Payment and contact from the buyer must be made within 2 days of auction win (mail time for checks and such is allowed for), and all payment must clear prior to shipping. Drives will ship within 2 business days of payment clearing, usually next day. TESTING AND ACCEPTANCE must be complete within two weeks to obtain replacements or refunds.
Shipping is UPS (default ground), no other options, domestic only, and typically runs about $8 + $2/drive, increasing with distance from Allentown, PA. Orders are insured with UPS insurance. We have lost two out of hundreds, and UPS insurance worked fine. We'll handle the claim. And unlike some of the competition, we don't jack up the shipping costs to cover low auctions. Go ahead and snipe our auction, we don't mind!
bcmEW is green: we disassemble all failed drives and return 99% of the drive to circulation in other forms, including the platters, aluminum, steel, and magnets.
bcmEW supports Lehigh Valley Hospital, the EFF, and Seti@Home as a charitable donor. Charities seeking donated hard drives, please write us. We'll have you fax us your sheet and gladly donate drives FREE to any qualified charitable organization.
Legalese: on the odd chance (hasn't happened yet and we take great care to see that it doesn't) that we ship you a drive with data on it, you accept personal responsibility to erase the data or ship the drive back to us for secure erasure without further reading, exposing or copying it. We'll ship you a free drive in addition to your purchase plus cover the return shipping. Our clients trust us, and we are trusting you, because the alternative is to shred the drives and that is not a good thing for any of us. Failure to adhere to this clause may result in direct legal action and possibly criminal charges.
